Born on the Fourth of July

A patriotic young man joins the Vietnam War and returns home paralyzed, facing painful rehabilitation and a country unprepared to support its wounded veterans. As his beliefs and personal life unravel, he finds a new purpose advocating against the war and for human rights.

My take

You’ll appreciate this powerful, emotionally intense war drama if you value challenging personal journeys and political themes; Not for you if you prefer subtle, fast-paced entertainment or lighter war stories like Platoon.
