Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk

A 19-year-old soldier returns home with his squad for a celebratory football halftime appearance after a harrowing battle in Iraq. As the day unfolds through memories and encounters with family, supporters, entertainers, and business figures, the soldiers face the gap between their experiences and the public’s version of heroism.

My take

You may like this reflective, character-focused war drama if you prefer questions about public praise and returning soldiers over battle action; Not for you if you want fast pacing, realism, or a straightforward military story.
