Full Metal Jacket

A pragmatic Marine watches as brutal boot camp training reshapes a group of young recruits, then experiences the violence of the Vietnam War alongside fellow soldiers. Moving between the discipline of training and the chaos of urban combat, the story explores how war can erode individuality and humanity.

My take

You may enjoy this if you’re drawn to intense war stories that mix dark humor with a sobering look at military training and combat; not for you if you prefer lighthearted or less violent films.
