Call the Midwife

A group of midwives work in London’s impoverished East End during the 1950s, helping families through childbirth, illness, hardship, and loss. Alongside the demanding cases, the series explores friendship, faith, compassion, and the changing social realities of postwar life.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you appreciate warm historical dramas such as Jane Eyre and Little Women; Not for you if you dislike sentimental stories, recurring emotional hardships, or episodic formulas.
