The Indian Doctor

Set in 1963, a newly arrived Indian doctor takes work in a South Wales mining village, where he and his wife adjust to unfamiliar customs and local skepticism. The period comedy drama follows the community’s relationships, cultural tensions, medical concerns, and everyday struggles.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you prefer warm, character-led period dramas with gentle humor and community stories, especially like Doc Martin; Not for you if you want gritty realism, fast pacing, or consistently strong writing.
