After a famous actress is found dead, a young writer is wrongly accused and escapes custody. With help from a police constable’s daughter, he searches for evidence that can clear his name while evading the authorities across the English countryside.

You’ll enjoy this if you like early thrillers blending romance, humor, and a wrongfully accused fugitive, especially The 39 Steps; Not for you if you need relentless tension or a fully satisfying conclusion.
