In 1950s England, a chance train meeting draws an outsider into a quiet village where a string of “accidents” may be something far darker. After the only person willing to speak up is found dead, he heads to the countryside to question locals, follow uneasy clues, and try to stop the next strike.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want a moody, Christie-style village whodunit with an outsider poking at polite secrets, similar to The Pale Horse or Ordeal by Innocence; Not for you if you need a strictly faithful adaptation or brisk pacing.
