The Buccaneer

During the War of 1812, a pirate leader controls an island crucial to the defense of New Orleans. As a much larger British force approaches, he must choose between his crew’s survival and his loyalty to America, while a determined general prepares to defend the city with limited troops.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like old-fashioned pirate adventures, sweeping historical epics, and larger-than-life performances; Not for you if you want strict historical accuracy, consistently brisk pacing, or understated drama.
