During World War I, a French regiment is ordered to attack a heavily defended position. When the assault fails, three soldiers are selected to face a court-martial for cowardice, while their commanding officer struggles to defend them against an unjust military system.

My take

You’ll like this if you value morally serious war dramas, tense military justice, and strong performances; not for you if you want nonstop action, cheerful themes, or straightforward heroics like Patton.
