During the American Civil War, a determined commander leads the Union’s first all-Black volunteer regiment. As the soldiers train and prepare for battle, they face prejudice, inadequate supplies, doubts from their own side, and the constant threat of enemy forces.

You’ll like this if you enjoy emotionally charged historical war dramas such as Amistad or The Tuskegee Airmen; Not for you if you want light entertainment or nonstop action.
