Once Upon a Time in America

A former gangster returns to New York’s Lower East Side after more than thirty years, forced to revisit the memories, friendships, choices, and regrets tied to his life during Prohibition and beyond. Told across decades, the sprawling drama explores ambition, loyalty, crime, aging, and the lasting weight of the past.

My take

You’ll appreciate this if you enjoy patient, atmospheric gangster epics with complex timelines, such as Casino or GoodFellas; Not for you if you prefer brisk pacing, straightforward plots, or lighter treatment of violence and sexuality.
