You’ll likely enjoy Fingersmith if you want a Victorian caper with emotional undercurrents and plenty of surprise turns; Not for you if you dislike complicated, twist-heavy stories or prefer straightforward romance—Tipping the Velvet and The Handmaiden may suit you better.
