The Last King

A restored monarch returns to England after years in exile and faces pressure from Parliament, religious divisions, family expectations, and a turbulent court. The miniseries follows his efforts to steady the country while navigating a difficult marriage and passionate relationships with influential women.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like lavish, character-driven royal dramas with political and romantic intrigue; Not for you if you want a straightforward history lesson or restrained adult content, though The Virgin Queen may appeal.
