The Last Boy Scout

After a stripper is murdered in Los Angeles, a down-on-his-luck private detective joins forces with her former football-player boyfriend to investigate. Their search leads into extortion, blackmail, sports corruption, and political intrigue, while their constant hostility makes cooperation nearly as dangerous as the criminals they face.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want a fast, profane 1990s buddy-action thriller with memorable one-liners and brutal set pieces; Not for you if you dislike macho humor, graphic violence, or familiar crime plots.
