The Gilded Age
CriticsCritics: 82
AudienceAudience: 7.9
In 1882, a young woman moves in with her traditional aunts in New York City and enters the world of their wealthy neighbors. With support from a Black woman working as her maid, she navigates the tensions between established families and newly rich arrivals while weighing social expectations against the chance to choose her own path.
My takeYou may enjoy this if you like lavish period dramas about wealth, class, and changing social rules, especially Downton Abbey; Not for you if you want brisk pacing or consistently deep characters.
