Bright Young Things

CriticsCritics: 65

In 1930s England, a group of wealthy young socialites fill gossip columns with extravagant parties and reckless antics. An aspiring novelist, struggling to raise money for his wedding after customs officials confiscate his manuscript, takes a job reporting on the very circle he hopes to join.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy witty period comedies, flamboyant ensembles, and stories about privileged social circles; Not for you if you need a tightly focused plot or deeply sympathetic characters.
