The English Patient

In wartime Italy, a nurse cares for a badly burned, amnesiac patient whose fragmented memories reach back to a map-making expedition in North Africa. As his past gradually emerges, the film explores an intense affair, wartime loyalties, betrayal, loss, and the connections formed among people living through upheaval.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you appreciate patient, emotionally intense historical romances with mystery and atmosphere, especially films like The Piano; Not for you if you prefer brisk pacing, simple morality, or lighter relationship dramas.
