Misery

After a serious accident, an acclaimed novelist is rescued by a nurse who says she is his biggest fan. When her admiration turns obsessive, she confines him in her isolated home and demands that he rewrite a beloved character’s story, while a local sheriff begins searching for him.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like tense, character-driven thrillers with unsettling villains and strong performances; Not for you if graphic violence, captivity stories, or slow-building psychological dread are uncomfortable.
