Crackie

Seventeen-year-old Mitsy dreams of ditching her harsh-tongued grandmother, who’s raised her since she was four, by running off to find the mother who deserted her. But when her mom turns up unexpectedly and wreaks havoc in their lives, Mitsy is forced to decide whether the woman who raised her is her enemy, or her strongest ally.

My take

A raw, emotionally complex coming-of-age story about reconciliation and belonging. Mitsy's journey forces you to confront uncomfortable truths about family, resentment, and the people who choose to stay. The kind of film that sits with you long after it ends.
