Come and See

During the invasion of a Belarusian village, a young boy leaves his family to join resistance fighters. After returning home with a girl he meets along the way, he confronts the devastation left by war and struggles to survive as his youthful hopes give way to despair.

My take

You may appreciate this if you want a powerful, uncompromising war drama with lasting emotional impact; Not for you if graphic cruelty, bleak stories, and intense distress are difficult to handle.
