The North Star

The exploits of a Ukrainian farming collective overrun by the Nazi invasion. A group of young people, including Marina Pavlova and Damian Simonov, are on a walking holiday and separated from the farming village. However they manage to smuggle a wagon-load of guns into the occupied village and lead the uprising against the Nazis.

My take

A stirring wartime drama that captures the courage and desperation of ordinary people resisting occupation. Blends romance and action as young idealists risk everything to fight back against tyranny—the kind of classic that reminds you why resistance stories still matter.
