Black Rain

Two New York cops escort a captured criminal to Japan, where he escapes into a violent underworld conflict. As they pursue him through Osaka, they must navigate unfamiliar customs, strained cooperation with local authorities, and a dangerous criminal network while adapting their approach to survive.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like stylish, atmospheric cop thrillers with culture-clash tension and a strong sense of place; Not for you if you dislike dated 1980s conventions or morally abrasive heroes.
