Wild at Heart

Two young lovers flee across the country to build a life together while escaping the fury of one lover’s controlling mother, who sends dangerous people after them. Their journey becomes a strange, volatile road trip through romance, violence, and a series of unsettling encounters.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like dark, eccentric romances with dreamlike detours, as in Blue Velvet or True Romance; Not for you if you need a coherent plot, restraint, or grounded characters.
