Trainspotting

A heroin addict cycles through bad decisions and attempts at sobriety alongside a volatile group of friends. After getting clean and moving from Edinburgh to London, he discovers that leaving his old life behind may be harder than expected.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy frantic, darkly comic stories about addiction and alienation, with a memorable style reminiscent of Requiem for a Dream; Not for you if disturbing drug-related content is a dealbreaker.
