The Third Man

In postwar Vienna, a pulp writer arrives to meet an old friend, only to learn that the friend has died. Suspicious details surrounding the death lead him into a dangerous investigation involving divided authorities, shadowy criminals, and the dead man’s grieving lover.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you appreciate atmospheric film noir, morally complex mysteries, and postwar settings, especially alongside The Maltese Falcon or Citizen Kane; Not for you if you dislike slower classics or unconventional music.
