The Smurfs

After an evil wizard drives them from their magical village, a group of tiny blue creatures falls through a portal into modern New York City. With the wizard close behind, they rely on new human friends while searching for a way to return home.

My take

You may enjoy this as a light family adventure with playful characters, slapstick, and a mischievous villain, especially if you like Zookeeper; Not for you if you want faithful, sophisticated cartoon storytelling.
