The Royle Family is a British sitcom about a television-fixated Manchester household, where everyday routines and close-knit bickering fuel the comedy. A lazy patriarch, his hard-working wife, their entitled daughter, and their put-upon son navigate home life that’s mostly spent watching TV and talking things over.

My take

You’ll like The Royle Family if you enjoy dialogue-driven comedy about ordinary, slightly dysfunctional family life with a slow, lingering pace and plenty of TV talk; Not for you if you need fast plot momentum or constant big jokes, similar to Early Doors or Absolutely Fabulous.
