The Negotiator

A police hostage negotiator is accused of murdering his partner and believes he has been framed by people within the department. To find evidence that could clear him, he takes hostages in a police office and demands that an outside negotiator handle the standoff.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy tense crime thrillers built around negotiation, mistrust, and corruption, especially films such as Inside Man or The Lincoln Lawyer; Not for you if you need realism or nonstop action.
