The Little Stranger

In post-war rural Warwickshire, a doctor is called to a declining Georgian estate where a family’s long decline raises uneasy questions about whether something darker is at work. As he becomes involved with the household, tensions and unsettling events begin to blur the line between grief, belief, and fear.

My take

If you enjoy slow-burn, classy gothic stories with a heavy sense of unease, you may find The Little Stranger engaging; Not for you if you want jump scares or nonstop drama, or if you’re expecting something like Nocebo or The Inhabitant.
