The Great Yokai War

A troubled young boy is chosen to enter a hidden war among yōkai, mythological creatures from Japanese folklore. Alongside friendly companions, he must find the courage to protect his new friends and help end the oppression threatening their world.

My take

You may enjoy this if you like imaginative Japanese fantasy, colorful creatures, and youthful adventure; Not for you if you prefer consistent pacing, gentler scares, or less unsettling imagery.
