The Evil Dead

A group of college students spend a weekend at a remote cabin, where they discover an ancient book and an audio recording linked to a supernatural force. After unleashing evil in the surrounding woods, they must fight to survive as the isolated getaway becomes a nightmare.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like inventive, gruesome cult horror with a tense cabin setting and homemade charm; Not for you if dated effects, thin characters, or excessive gore quickly wear out your patience.
