The Evangelist

Theater director Danny is a gay atheist who adopts 12-year-old foster child Gideon only to discover the kid is a religious fanatic. When Danny reluctantly agrees to help Gideon on a mission to convert the locals to Christianity, the increasingly radical ideas start to create trouble in the community.

My take

A sharp, character-driven comedy-drama about an unlikely duo whose clashing worldviews spark both laughter and genuine tension. Perfect for when you want something that's thoughtful without being heavy—funny but with real stakes underneath.
