The Day the Earth Stood Still

An alien emissary arrives to judge whether humanity can stop the environmental damage threatening Earth. As authorities respond with fear and force, a scientist and a troubled young boy become involved in the visitor’s urgent mission to determine whether humankind deserves to survive.

My take

You may enjoy this if you want serious, environmentally focused science fiction with moral questions and restrained action, but Not for you if you prefer warm characters, polished dialogue, or a faithful remake.
