Shrek Forever After

Feeling trapped by family life, an ogre makes a dangerous deal to experience his old freedom again. He soon awakens in a darker version of his world, where familiar relationships have changed and a ruthless ruler holds power, forcing him to fight for the life and love he took for granted.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy heartfelt animated adventures, familiar characters, and a slightly darker alternate-world premise; Not for you if you want the sharpest humor and originality of the earlier films.
