Pearl

On an isolated family farm, a young woman tends to her ailing father under the strict watch of her devout mother. Dreaming of a glamorous life like the one she sees in the movies, she struggles with the limits of her circumstances as her ambitions and darker impulses collide.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like slow-burn horror focused on a troubled dreamer, vivid old-Hollywood flair, and an unsettling central performance; Not for you if you want a fast-paced slasher with frequent scares.
