Lichtenberg

Through the eyes and ears of an old abandoned apartment block in the centre of Berlin, 'Lichtenberg' tells stories from five different periods of recent Berlin History. A Weimar murder, a Nazi meeting, an East German family's escape, the arrival of two 90's squatters and finally, a woman who hopes to host a young Syrian refugee in her flat.

My take

A haunting portrait of Berlin told through the walls of a single apartment block across a century of upheaval. Intimate, layered, and deeply human—for viewers who want history not as spectacle, but as lived experience.
