Lark Rise to Candleford

Set between a modest hamlet and a more prosperous market town in rural England, this period drama follows farm-workers, craftsmen, and gentry as they navigate everyday life, changing times, romance, community tensions, and the gradual disappearance of a familiar way of life.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you prefer gentle, character-led period dramas with warmth, romance, and village life, especially The Paradise or Victoria; Not for you if you need fast pacing or gritty realism.
