Jasper, Texas

CriticsCritics: 66
AudienceAudience: 6.3

In 1998, three white men in the small town of Jasper, Texas, chained a black man to the back of their pickup truck and dragged him to his death. This film relates that story and how it affected all of the residents of the town, both black and white.

My take

A stark examination of racial violence and small-town complicity in the aftermath of a real hate crime, presented with unflinching realism and moral weight. This TV movie captures the community's struggle between denial and accountability, demanding viewers confront uncomfortable truths about prejudice and justice.
