Jamaica And The Mystery Of The Maroons
Meet the descendants of a group of 18th Century slaves who fought plantation owners for their right to remain free. Actress and author Victoria Rowell takes to the Cockpit Mountains of Jamaica to discover the courageous legacy of a forgotten people.
My takeA deeply moving historical investigation that restores dignity to an erased chapter of Caribbean resistance. Victoria Rowell's journey through the Cockpit Mountains is meditative and revelatory—the kind of documentary that shifts how you understand freedom and resilience.
