High Noon

On his wedding day, a small-town marshal learns that a notorious outlaw he once imprisoned is returning on the noon train with a gang. Torn between leaving for a new life and honoring his duty, he stays behind and seeks help from townspeople who are reluctant to stand with him.

You’ll like this if you enjoy tense, character-driven westerns about duty, fear, and social pressure, especially The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance; Not for you if you want nonstop action or sweeping adventure.
