Happy Valley

A dedicated, experienced police officer balances demanding work in a Yorkshire community with life as a bereaved mother caring for her orphaned grandchild. The dark, layered thriller follows major investigations alongside family tensions, personal grief, and moments of dry humor.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want realistic, character-driven British crime drama with dark humor and sustained tension; Not for you if you prefer lighter mysteries or easily followed dialogue.
