Halloween

Fifteen years after killing his sister, a masked man escapes from a mental hospital and returns to a quiet Illinois town on Halloween. As night falls, a teenage girl and her friends find themselves stalked by an apparently unstoppable killer.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy restrained, atmospheric slashers built around stalking and suspense, especially The Fog or The Texas Chain Saw Massacre; Not for you if you need gore, fast pacing, or deep character development.
