Girl in the Basement
AudienceAudience: 6.5
A teenage girl dreams of leaving home when she turns 18, hoping to escape her controlling father. Before that can happen, he imprisons her in the basement, forcing her to endure a terrifying ordeal while those around her remain unaware of what is happening.
My takeYou may appreciate this if you can handle emotionally intense true-crime dramas with strong performances, but Not for you if disturbing abuse, captivity, and bleak Lifetime-style storytelling are difficult to watch.
