In 1977, a financially desperate former developer takes a mortgage company owner’s son hostage and attaches a shotgun to a deadly switch. As police, reporters, and a local radio host become involved, the standoff turns into a tense public spectacle shaped by anger, sympathy, and uneasy negotiation.
