Dad's Army

Set in a fictional British seaside town during WW2, the Walmington-On-Sea Home Guard try to prepare for an imminent German invasion. A ragtag group of local volunteers tackle constant setbacks as they ready themselves for the threat, making their “defense” efforts both chaotic and determined.

My take

If you enjoy classic British sitcoms with a warm, wartime setup and humor built from group mishaps, you’ll probably like Dad’s Army; Not for you if you want nonstop punchlines or prefer modern, faster-paced comedies like It Ain't Half Hot Mum or 'Allo 'Allo!
