Chess Story

As Nazi troops enter Vienna in 1938, a lawyer is arrested and held in solitary confinement after refusing to surrender confidential information. Months of psychological torment begin to break him down, but a stolen chess book offers a fragile way to endure—one that gradually threatens to become an obsession.

My take

You’ll like this if you favor serious, psychologically intense wartime dramas such as The Captain, but Not for you if you want fast pacing, light entertainment, or straightforward historical storytelling.
