Caught Stealing

A burned-out former baseball player living in late-1990s New York agrees to care for a neighbor’s cat, only to become entangled in a violent criminal underworld. With dangerous strangers closing in, he must rely on instinct and determination to survive while uncovering what has drawn them to his doorstep.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this fast, violent, darkly comic crime thriller if you like pulpy New York capers and messy genre fun; Not for you if graphic violence, tonal shifts, or familiar twists wear you down.
