Blind Man Walking

Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earth's founder, Clarence 13X, left the Nation of Islam, he was likely unaware that his small group would grow into a movement, eventually reconstructing the identities of innumerable young, Black men in inner-cities across America. The foremost tenets of 5% ideology, that the Black man is both God and the Sun, are nurtured by a standard for Black familyhood in which the Black woman, the Earth, revolves around her mate. Her God is all-seeing and all-knowing.

My take

A thought-provoking exploration of a pivotal religious and cultural movement that reshaped Black identity in America. This is for viewers seeking to understand complex social history through an intimate lens—expect intensity, conviction, and ideas that linger.
