August Rush

A musically gifted orphan escapes his institution and heads to New York City, hoping to find his birth parents. Along the way, a homeless street musician takes him in and tries to profit from his extraordinary talent, while his parents separately begin searching for him.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like emotional musical fairy tales, family-centered stories, and hopeful romance, especially films such as Raise Your Voice; Not for you if you prefer grounded plots or brisk pacing.
