1883

A family leaves poverty behind and joins a perilous journey west across the Great Plains toward Montana. Along the way, they face hunger, illness, exhaustion, violence, and an unforgiving wilderness, while the promise of a better future clashes with the steep personal cost of survival.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want a harsh, emotional Western with strong characters and sweeping landscapes, especially if you liked Yellowstone or 1923; Not for you if you dislike bleak journeys or frequent narration.
